Should I wax my eyebrows or keep plucking?

I have been plucking my eyebrows for like a year now and I am sick of it!!! It has started to hurt a lot more and makes my eyes water. On the other hand, I know waxing hurts a lot. But How long does a wax last for? like a month of a nice and clean look then it starts to grow back???

waxing does not hurt if u go to a place that has different levels of wax. the different levels mean that the wax is thicker or not. i get mine waxed on the lowest level. it kinda feels like warm Elmers Glue. i go to a beauty salon. try to go to the same person everytime(if u like the person who did it the first time u go). after they wax ur eyebrows they will put lotion and powder on them the help with the puffiness. after u wax them u can continue to pluck stray hairs as they grow. then go back in a couple months and get them waxed again. the more u wax the less it will hurt(if it hurts u). i wax and pluck

Wax last maybe a couple of weeks. I love wax, but it can be very "dangerous" if you are not careful where you put the wax you won't have any eyebrows left. Eye brows come off very easily. There are some kits that come with eye brow cutouts that you place over your eyebrows. It's also hard to find a good wax. I like the ones that you can heat in the microwave, but be sure not to put it on your skin too hot. I use an orange stick (manicuring tool) to place the wax on my skin and cloth strips to take it off. I like Moom wax, and I ordered it over the Internet. Just do a little at a time and be careful where you place the wax. It doesn't hurt me that bad. I've been plucking my brows for about 50 years, so . . . .

Waxing last about the same as plucking, but waxing is usually better at getting the hair root out, thus it works a bit better. If your plucking, pull the skin tighter with one finger and pluck with the other, pull the hair out going in the direction the hair hair falls. After your done, pull a cool washcloth on it. Waxing may seem to hurt a bit more but it is all over with a lot quicker!

Waxing is great, but sometimes people are allergic to certain waxes. You can develop a nasty reaction, hives, redness, swelling. Plucking is more precise, but takes longer. To relieve some pain and discomfort try to put an ice pack on your brows for 5 min prior to plucking This should eliminate all the pain, and the watering of the eyes. Also, there is another way to remove unwanted hair and shape your eyebrows, its called eyebrow threading. The technique uses a quick moving/spinning thread, its fast, precise and it eliminates any potential allergic reactions. Good Luck!

I've been waxing my eyebrows for about 4 years and it is SOOO much better than plucking. I hate plucking but waxing only last about 4 weeks and it's good to pluck in between waxes to keep the shape.

waxing only hurts for a second but when it grows back its not the most attractive thing and you can't wax again until the hair gets to a certain length. threading is sort of like plucking but it lasts a lot longer and looks a lot better.

Waxing is an easy fast way to get unwanted hair off your body but its also painful. If you have light skin it can make the skin around your eyebrows red for the rest of that day. It lasts for a good amount of time, so I would suggest getting them plucked only because the person doing it will give them a nice shape. Best of Luck. :]

I had my eyebrows waxed only once. I hate the results. Too thin brows. It hurt really bad. I pluck, sometimes I'm more sensitive than others. Pulling your skin taught takes a lot of the pain away. Apply ice before you pluck to reduce some of the feeling.

It generaly comes in at about the same rate. . . The plus w/waxing is that you don't have to worry about the shaping. The negative is that you can be allergic to the wax. I was, so I can't use it. As for the pain of the tweezing, I've found that it's a lot less painful if I do it right after a shower. This really comes down to a personal choice. . .

Waxing will last for 2-3 weeks, hurts alot less then plucking each hair one at a time. Mamma always said...you want to be beautiful you have to suffer. The life of a woman!

If u r tired of plucking.. then I recommend waxing. It is sooo much faster and the hair don't grow back for like sometimes up to 5 weeks or so =)

Waxing is great. the pain is no big deal. I wax once a month for shape and then i maintain by plucking the rest of the time.

i hate getting waxed because i end up with a red strip across my forehead...instead i thread..which hurts a little bit more but there is less room for mistakes

once my friend got her eyebrows waxed and a little piece of wax fell on one part that wasnt suppose to be waxed..and well..she had to color her eyebrow in for a month

so i suggest threading

Waxing does last longer that tweezing. It may last a month or more depending on how fast your brows grow. You may want to consider having them groomed professionally this may be better for you. As for waxing hurting everybody is different some say it hurt and some say it don't hurt. You decide what is best for you,

try gigi wax and either do it yourself by waxing its much much cheaper to do it that way, have a friend help ya out. It usually lasts a little longer then plucking them yourself but unlike plucking you have to wait a while so it looks crappy while you wait for them to grow out long enough to be able to let the wax grip your hair in order to pull them out. You can tweeze them in between too or alternate. THats what I do.

well I pluck my eyebrows and all though it might take a long time after a while it will grow back slower so you dont have to do it all the time but waxing is easy and fast. do what ever you want because to me they both hurt.

pluck. because waxing might get ur whold eyebrow off and might leave little hairs behind. also waxing hurts more. it might cause a rash. Waxing probably last for like 2 weeks. It is also expensive.

waxing hurts too. the thing is ,you have to let them grow to wax. soo, you dont want to look like the cookie monster for days ? try orajel on the eyebrow to numb before plucking.

I get my eyebrows waxed

to me waxing doesn't hurt at all

its only feels like a pinch

if the people you go to are good at it

it will last for about a moth then you need to get

them waxed again

the bad side of waxing is it leaves residue

that hard to get off

and it clogs your pores

i would wax if i were u because it stays longer and it doesnt leave marks...but plucking makes ur eyebrows red and it grows back faster than a wax

Try waxing it. It is so cool because it gets rid of tiny little hairs that are impossible to pluck because they are so tiny. It lasts about 3 weeks for me.

well my friend waxes her eybrows and it last for a pretty long time. waxing does hurt but since its quick and takes out more hair its better than plucking one at a time. i would say wax

actually I think getting your eye brows waxed feels good and so do all of my friends, it last for a couple of weeks 2 and its not as annoying as plucking your brows like every 2 days!

Have u heard of threading? It is less painful than waxing and lasts longer.
.
2008-01-06 18:58:58 UTC
THREAD.

So much less painful than plucking or waxing.

Lightly scratch around your eyebrow and THATS how it feels like.

When i got it done the first time, I WAS FREAKING OUT.

I made my mom go to the pharmacy store and buy a numbing creme!

But it didn't work..

It hurt a LOT less than I thought it would.

Try!
