In Indiana you have to be 18 without parental consent. If you do have parental consent and you are under 18, there is LEGALLY no minimum age in Indiana. However, most piercers have standards of what age they will do piercings. For the nostril I usually set the minimum in my shop at 13, and for the lip I set the limit at 15. If you are under 18 and your parent brings you, you will need a photo ID, your parent needs a photo ID, and you need to bring your birth certificate.
Please make sure that you know the risks and permanent effects of these piercings ahead of time.
All piercings hurt to some degree :) I think the nostril is slightly more painful than the lip, but it is worth it.

pretty much everywhere you go in america you have to have an adult with you to give consent to it (at least at any good, safe and clean shop). if you're 18 then you don't need an adult (duh haha). just make sure you have photo id (driver's license, permit, state id), your parent has your id and your birth certificate or certificate of legal guardianship. hope this helps, good luck on your piercings!
