Why do most men in their 50's or older wear thity whity briefs?

How do you know this? My partner (54) wears coloured boxers, usually black or blue, although he does have some red ones as well.

Because they grew up in a time where briefs were "the norm", boxers really weren't popular until the 90's, in fact they were shunned like briefs are today. When the 90's rolled around these guys were already in their upper-30's or 40's and didn't see a need to switch so they still wear briefs.
