My dress is going to be light orange to a medium orange

i want to have dark orange shoes :P but maybe that will be too orange. I do not want to spray tan that's just over the top for me i think.

anyways i have black hair
green eyes and fair/medium skin tone

i was thinking a lilac purple for my finger nails and toe nails? Any hairstyles and makeup links would be great! My dress is considered a ballgown but its not too poofy. Also what color tux would my date look good in? I'm thinking white with just a tad bit of orange in the tie or bow tie? let me know! please no mean comments!!

Stick with the orange dress, it will be a bold statement, I love it! And def no tanning, your dark hair and light skin will make it even more amazing!

However, skip doing any color on your nails. Orange is amazing on it's own and adding any other colors to your look is going to make it clashy. Get a mani/pedi and just do a nice clear lacquer on all your nails.

Shoes - strappy, open toe. Don't wear closed toed or chunky heels. And don't do orange, like you said, it will be orange overkill, we want the dress to be your shining glory. A sparkly silver or gold would be perfect, depending on jewelry you are wearing. Again, with such a great outspoken dress, less is more on the jewelry front too.

Straight iron your hair and find a super cute girly clip with orange in it (like a butterfly, flower, etc.) do a side part & put the clip on the side with less hair (does that make sense?) and let the other side fall naturally, it will look fantastic.

Makeup- play up your eyes, do smokey eyes with neutral and dark brown shadows/liner. No black, we want to stray away from using black with the orange. Just internet search "smokey brown eye shadow" if you need help/ideas. Use a blush with more brown tone (not peach or pink) and blush from the back to the front, just under your cheekbone (practice this a few times if need be) and then a simple light lip gloss (Cover Girl Wet Slicks in Sugar Maple would be perfect!)

Love it when guys do the white tux, but he should have the personality to go with it, it's pretty bold. Otherwise a very dark brown tux with orange accents to go with your dress, no black, we don't want the whole halloweenish black & orange thing.

Then just be confident because confidence is what makes a woman truly gorgeous! Have a great time!

If you're wearing orange, that's alright. But I guess, you should skip the lilac finger nails. Orange and purple wouldn't look good together in formal events.

About the shoes... I'm not sure because I haven't seen how orange your gown is.. When you go to the store to pick your shoes, just bring your dress with you and see if the color goes well together.

I guess, dark gray would look better on your date than white.

I hope this helps. ;) Have a great time on your prom!

why do you want an orange one in the first place? there are much more flattering colors like beige,white,black,red,pink... but if u have green eyes and fair/medium skintone an emerald dress will look awesome on u.and its a very fashionable color right now too...

Personally not purple for nails. (it's your choice though)

I'd go for black or if you don't want something to edgy I'd say red

Or you could do spiral curls and tight it in a side pony and leave your side bangs down ( if you have them) and you date could where white with a orange tie! Or even black with an orange tie.

Both black and white goes with everything!

Purple only if it's really dark, I think you should try sapphire or just simple pearl white or french mani/pedi/

Orange is so cool! I'm sure it's super pretty, and sounds good for your hair and skin tone!

Make sure to have your date just do a simple orange tie or bowtie, not an orange shirt lol and a nice orange flower to match your dress.

You should put white little flowers in your hair and do a side pony-twist or braid that's really elegant.

Ignore those remarks on not wearing orange, beige and neutral colors would wash you out.

Don't let the dress overpower you, make sure to do a nice smokey eye or something sparkly but don't over do it, you don't want to look insane.

And just experiment with pretty little white flowers to pin in here and there in your hair, like 3-5 or them :)
