I really wish I could help you. I'm also from Ohio and I modeled for Barbizon and John Robert Powers. While I did get a lot of jobs that payed very well through both companies I didn't end up doing a whole lot with it. I would just advise that you do your homework before going with any agencies. Always remember that if you have to pay them money then it isn't worth it. The thing about Barbizon is that they are an agency that teaches you to model. They are more a modeling school. You really have to watch the modeling industry b/c things can be tricky. Do you have a good portfolio ready? You should have some photos done of you by a professional to get you started. You don't have to spend thousands of dollars on them, just make sure they are done by someone that knows what they are doing.
I wish you the best of luck and wish I could help more.

I live in Ohio, and used to do plus size modeling when i lived in Atlanta. My brother's best friend was discovered by a modeling agency while he was participating in a fashion show for Abercrombie (he was also the manager there) at EastGate Mall in Cinci. There were scouts there and they actually flew him to Maryland and he did some work for Amercian Eagle and Banana Republic. He didn't pay a dime but made quite a bit. I'm not sure what agency the scouts were with, but i could find out.

I agree about Barbizon. I know that one of the owners of a Barbizon college .........IM NOT SAYING WHERE......was hooking girls out of the school. I think it depends on the owners......but seemed to be a shady deal. The guy owned multiple schools of this nature. Can't answer about modeling schools. sorry

regrettably that is problematical to teach you've been scammed through colleges like Barbizon, John Robert Powers, John Casablancas, etc. they're modeling colleges, no longer businesses. i do not understand some thing about Stone. in case you paid for training and were able to attend training, they offered a service for the money. in the adventure that they charged you for images and actual photographed you, then they offered the service. about the purely way you could sue them is to teach that you paid for some thing they did not grant - in case you paid for portfolio pictures yet under no circumstances were given the photographs, paid for training which under no circumstances occurred, paid to be indexed on their information superhighway website yet your image replaced into under no circumstances printed, etc. that's a shame there are such diverse colleges obtainable benefiting from people's objectives of being a style, yet maximum of them aren't to any extent further doing some thing unlawful.

I don't know of any off hand, but I do know if they charge anything, it is a rip off. If they are that interested, they will pay all fees, including the portfolio.

I don't know but I do know this my husband is a model and he has never paid a dime to them, they found him. You should never have to pay for anything remember they need you you don't need them, without you they have no revenue.
You a Jorge?
