A full set usually costs at least $40.00 (at a decent salon).

I'm not sure about your area, but in Florida the prices are around $20-30 for a full set. This will usually include airbrush designs (like the french tips you want) but they chip pretty easily. You can get pink and white which runs around $35-50 but they use literally pink and white acrylic so there is nothing to chip off unless you actually break the nail. I usually do pink and whites because they last so much longer and are worry free. You can also see if your local nail salon will do white tips which uses a white colored extension tip instead of the usual clear, resulting in both the cheaper price (usually $25-35) and the long lasting effects (because the color is beneath the acrylic). The only drawback of this is that when it grows out, you have to eventually get regular acrylics and air brush or paint them because the white tips grow out.

Hey, im 16 as well and i go to cosmetology school, so i get acrylic nails all the time, and am always getting compliments. There not going to look tacky, just make sure they are not too long, short french tips always look cuter.

They can be pretty expensive. I just went to a drugstore and got a set for $5.99 that you put on yourself. It comes with the glue and different sized nails. They look great and are waaay less expensive. (:

short neat nails are nice as well as neat. I dont like long nails because dirt can get under them and it look nasty
its digusting and gross when somebodys nails tend to be all chewed up to the finish.

Small is a lot better! Long nails are called "ghetto claws" for a reason. They make you look like no-class trash.
