Why do a lot of people think crop tops are trashy?

I mean i've seen a lot of people say something like "It's not trashy as long as you don't show your belly button.." What's wrong with showing a belly button? I mean i don't think you should have a crop top that is see through with a bra under or a crop top so show it looks like a damn bra but what is wrong with showing off the belly let along the belly button a bit?

Do they really look that trashy?..

I dont think crops tops are trashy, but it depends on the cut. Like if ur stacked and u have a really low cut crop top and your showing ur belly, yeah, thats reallllly trashy. my mother's rule is that if you want to get the right attention, only expose one part of ur body. so if you have a low cut top, dont wear a mini skirt. if ur wearing a mini skirt, cover ur chest more.

I like crop tops, but personally I would prob only were them either with a tank top under or say at the beach. In my opinion, I think it looks trashy on its own, it may give people the wrong assumption of you.

I think they are kind of trashy. As a girl, I just think there is no good reason to walk around showing your midriff unless you are at the beach. And if you're like 12 or 13, like some girls who wear them are, then it is certainly not appropriate.

I'm with Paper Flowers on this one. Unless you're a preteen girl, they're kind of silly looking. And they're still silly lookin then. I would never wear a crop top in public. Nope, nope, nope.

Well they do show your stomach . And society has taught us that unless your tall ad skinny there's nothing wrong with wearing 1

Because the people who usually where them give them the trashy appeal. Kind of like tattoos. Depending on the person they find it distasteful

I really like long dresses. My bf desires the short ones. So my closet is packed w/ 1/2 and 1/2.

Of all first, I love the skirt!!! People inform me I've nice lower limbs but I still don't wear shorts

I think they look great, as long as you have a reasonably flat tummy they are a great look. I wear them quite a bit when im out and about and i feel great.
